Why Should You Work At Brilliant Little Minds?
Brilliant Little Minds is a family. A family of staff and families who work hard to ensure the children in our care get the absolute best during their first years of life. With age-appropriate infant, toddler, and preschool programs our teachers are the most important piece of the puzzle.
We take pride in ensuring teachers feel valued and taken care of. To do so we keep three things in mind, higher pay then most competitors, more meaningful benefits, and classrooms that make both our teachers and our children proud. If our teachers win, our students win.
Our Pay Scale: The Highest in the Area
One of the main reasons teachers choose Brilliant Little Minds is our pay. We know it is important to feel valued for your time and dedication, and our pay scale reflects that.
New teachers start at $16 per hour.
Once you complete your state-required certificates, your pay increases to $17 per hour.
Teachers who already hold all certifications start immediately at $17 per hour.
To put this in perspective, here is how we compare to other schools:
School/Center | Starting Pay | 1 Year | 2 Years | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Brilliant Little Minds | $16–$17/hr | $17/hr | Increases with training | Highest local starting pay |
Other local schools | $13/hr | $13.50/hr | $14/hr | Below average pay |
Pinellas County average (daycare teachers) | $14–$15/hr | $15/hr | $16/hr | Source: ZipRecruiter & Indeed |
Local daycare competitors | $14–$15/hr | $15/hr | $15.50/hr | Limited benefits |
Compared to many daycare centers in St. Petersburg and Pinellas Park, we are proud to lead the market in pay and opportunity. Our goal is to attract and keep dedicated teachers who want to build a career in early childhood education.
Benefits and Perks
At Brilliant Little Minds, we know pay is only one part of the equation. Our staff also enjoys:
Paid training and professional development
Support with completing certifications
Opportunities for advancement within our school
A warm and supportive work culture
Teachers tell us the greatest perk is being part of a community that values their work and treats them like family.
Professional Growth and Training Opportunities
One of the most rewarding aspects of working at Brilliant Little Minds is the chance to keep learning as you teach. We know that early childhood education evolves quickly, so we make sure our teachers have access to training that keeps them confident and prepared. From state-required certifications to optional workshops on classroom management, literacy instruction, and sensory play strategies, there are many opportunities to grow professionally.
We also offer mentorship for new hires. Experienced teachers pair with new team members to provide one-on-one guidance during the first few months. This makes the transition smoother and helps everyone feel supported. Teachers who want to take on leadership roles, such as becoming a lead teacher or program coordinator, are given pathways to advancement. At Brilliant Little Minds, your career does not stay still—you can continue to grow right alongside the children you teach.
Facility Upgrades That Support Teaching
We believe teachers deserve safe and inspiring classrooms. That is why we have invested in recent upgrades, including:
A newly paved parking lot for easier parent access
Outdoor shade structures that make playground time more comfortable
Renovated classrooms with bright, welcoming spaces designed for learning and creativity
These improvements benefit both the children and the teachers who spend their days here. When classrooms are functional, safe, and inspiring, teachers can focus on what they do best—helping children learn and grow.
